Masala Nueva Andalucia is part of the Masala Group of restaurants along the Costa del Sol. As far as Indian restaurants go, this one is amongst the best for flavour and authenticity. Spices especially shipped from India are used in the creation of each dish to create something completely unique on the coast and yet at the same time something reminiscent of India. The owner explains that there are 10 different ways to cook each dish to suit each individual´s different requirements. The menu is updated regularly in order to keep up with trends in Indian cooking.

Masala is situated in the heart of Nueva Andalucia and is nestled into a community of other restaurants and bars. Much has been spent on designing the interior décor and has resulted in a finish that is cozy yet romantic and unobtrusively lavish. You can also choose to eat outside on the ample sized and beautifully decorated terrace.

The menus are beautifully presented and each dish is carefully described although the waiting staff are always on hand to assist if needed. The menu also boasts an impressive wine list, which pairs very well with the menu. To start you can choose from delights such as mixed hors d´oeuvres or tandoori mushrooms and meat samosas amongst other tasty morsels. For mains you can choose from chicken handi, king prawn rogan josh, chicken palak and chicken balti all ably supported by bombay potato, tarka dahl and the most delicious pilau rice.

The general concensus for this restaurant is that the food is superb with a more gentle yet very effective use of spices and herbs. The prices are also very agreeable when compared to the surroundings and the quality of the food and service. Masala also offers a home delivery service within a 15-kilometer radius for those that want the flavour of India in the comfort of their home.

I have eaten some of the very best Indian food in some of the best restaurants to grace this god forsaken planet however as soon as I tasted the food at Masala in Nueva Andalucia, I knew that I was eating something very unique and special. To add to this, the staff are absolutely exceptional and attentive to all ones needs, constantly aware of what is going on and when to approach any particular table. The owner is also a unique and passionate individual who will always make you feel welcomed. Although situated in between 2 other decent indian restaurants, I have to give my vote to Masala and I promise you that once you experience the cuisine, you will return over and over again! I can´t wait for my next meal there!!
